The transformation of a car into a park.
Our first project in 2008 presented an alternative to a city landscape dominated by cars. The CAR:park was located outside the British Museum for the London Festival of Architecture.

"How much food can we grow in a shop?"
In July 2010 Something & Son began the transformation of a four storey empty shop into a farm at 20 Dalston Lane, London.
Up and running since Spring 2011 we are now operating as a sustainable business growing fish, chickens and lots of salad, and running a cafe, workspace and events venue.

Victoria & Albert Museum | 2011
For a Friday Late commission we harnessed the power of thermophylic bacteria and insulation to produce heat from rotting kitchen waste.
The free heat was recovered and used to brew builders tea which was served in test tubes for this one day event at the V&A Museum.

Our installation for the Gwangju Bienalle in South Korea took visitors on a journey from a dark and damp root cave interior to the bright lights of the high-tech aeroponic garden above.
