Farmshop
Installation, 2010-2019
Dalston, London, UK

Farmshop was an experiment in food production done across the various rooms and spaces of traditional Victorian shop and terrace. In an age were so much of food is produced in ways that go against natural systems the project seeks to understand the realities of the methods used by large corporations. Over 10 years aquaponics, aeroponics, hydroponics, soil based growing, chickens on the roof and mushrooms in the basement have been explored, comparing them and the successes and failings. Alongside this the project provides a meeting space, talks and workshop programme and a restaurant serving food grown in the building.
